President’s Message

There are many amazing things happening with the National Association for Court Management (NACM). With the help and support of our members, partners, and sponsors, we’re able to excel at our mission in educating court professionals, providing community, sharing information, and advocating on important court and justice system topics. NACM accomplishes this through our publications, webinars, podcasts, resources, conferences, and outreach initiatives.

NACM’s Midyear Conference was recently held in Little Rock, Arkansas. The conference theme, Advancing Today’s Courts to Meet the Challenges of Tomorrow, showcased exceptional educational programs while offering networking opportunities for our national and international guests. We thank all who attended. Made available through the generous support of the State Justice Institute (SJI), each plenary and select programs were live-streamed and recorded. A description of each recorded session is provided on our 2019 Midyear Conference Highlights page. All past NACM conference videos can be accessed in our Video Gallery on our website. We encourage you to watch these videos and share this great resource with your colleagues.

We are also very pleased to announce another benefit for our membership—the Court Leader’s Advantage podcast. This new offering provides another avenue for NACM to inform court professionals about important innovations and trends of interest to the court community. The monthly series will cover a range of topics, including leadership, ethics, access to justice, and many more and is sure to motivate and inspire with actionable takeaways specific to the court community. Visit https://nacmnet.org/podcasts/ for more details.

You’ll notice additional changes on our website. The NACM Board recently approved the NACM Court Community Career Opportunities page, where courts across the country can share job opportunities with the largest group of court professionals in the world. Please share this resource with your colleagues, especially those in Human Resources. To have your jobs posted with NACM Court Community Career Opportunities, please send an email to careers@nacmnet.org with the following information:

  • link to job announcement webpage or attach a PDF of the announcement
  • job title, organization name, location (city and state), and closing date

NACM is committed to providing quality educational opportunities to court professionals. We hope that you can join us for our 2019 Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, July 21-25, 2019. The annual conference theme, Courts and Society: Creating Public Trust Through Engagement and Innovation, features an agenda full of timely and relevant sessions that relate to the pursuit of excellence in court administration. We hope you register and join us for this exceptional educational program and networking opportunity.

One of the main reasons NACM is such a successful association is because of our engaged members. Members are encouraged to get involved by serving on a committee. NACM committees give members the opportunity to make a consistent and sustained contribution or to impact the organization through a limited engagement project. Each committee has clear goals, allowing members to select the role that best suits their interests and expertise. All NACM committees are described on the website. Whether it’s Membership Services, Governance, Core®, Conference Development, Communications, or any of the others, we’d love to have you join! Visit the NACM Committee page for more details. Thank you for your continued support of the National Association for Court Management.
