President’s Message

As 2021 ends and 2022 begins, we are not only faced with the ongoing COVID pandemic but also devastating natural disasters. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who were impacted by the recent outbreak of tornadoes. Now is the time to reflect on the treasures we have and to help others in need. As a court community, NACM members have always shown a desire and willingness to help others, and I am proud to be part of this organization. We as court managers continue to strive to improve the judicial system and to create access and fairness for all.

Courts have embraced new and innovative ways to increase our perception as an advocate. The theme for our 2022 conferences is a prime example. Our upcoming midyear conference in Bellevue, Washington is “Resilience and Reinvention, Transforming the Future of Courts.” I hope you will join us for this outstanding conference—either in person or virtually. The agenda includes numerous sessions to inspire and to motivate us to continue our great work. As always, in addition to the educational sessions, many networking opportunities are available for you to consult with and to gather information from colleagues.

NACM is a successful association because of our various committees and the great volunteer work of our members. I encourage you to join a committee. When you become more involved, you will be glad you did. The NACM Board is committed to progressing with our Strategic Priorities. Let us never forget those who have made sacrifices along the way. They inspire us to make necessary changes, such as the DEI movement. Together, we will make this organization better for the next generation.

In closing, I hope you are doing well and that you can take time to focus on your personal wellbeing. It is imperative that we take care of ourselves. Find a way that works for you as an individual, whether it be meditation, gathering with friends and family, or simply walking outside allowing the beauty of nature inspire you. I am blessed to be part of this great community, and I am honored you have trusted me to be your leader.

See you in 2022!
