President’s Message

As we look forward to the coming year of continued exceptional NACM educational programming, we want to thank all who joined us for our 2018 conferences in Orange County, California and Atlanta, Georgia. With record attendance at both events, the conference themes, Bridging the Gap: The Power of Strategic Collaboration and Mind the Gap: The Power of Active Engagement, provided the foundation for superior educational programming. Through focus on improved business processes, collaboration, and partnerships, and the development of exceptional services, participants were provided tools, tips, and strategies to assist the courts in meeting the ever-growing demands placed upon them upholding the rule of law and maintaining public trust and confidence.

For those of you not in attendance at our conferences, or for those who may have missed a session due to competing interest in attending other sessions, we encourage you to visit NACM’s YouTube channel or the NACM website Video Gallery, where you’ll find plenary and breakout sessions that were live-streamed and recorded. Live-streaming and recording were made possible through the generous support of the State Justice Institute (SJI). Speaker information and materials are also available and will remain on NACM’s conference app.

The 2018 Annual Conference also debuted the inaugural “State of the Profession” address. The address highlights NACM’s role as an influential and respected leader within the court profession. As such, we believe NACM can advance the field of court administration through our collective VOICE:

Vision—providing strategic focus on the advancement of the field of court administration
Organization—leading the association in the pursuit of collective goals
Implementation—acting and following through on strategic priorities
Communication—engaging the court community and justice partners
Ethics—demonstrating integrity and adhering to the highest ethical standards

NACM will use our VOICE to advocate for the courts and the profession of court administration. The recorded 2018 “State of the Profession” address can be accessed through our YouTube channel with the full address provided on the NACM website.

As planning is well underway to offer another extraordinary educational experience, combined with unlimited networking opportunities, we hope you can join us in Little Rock, Arkansas for our midyear conference, February 10-12, and our annual conference in Las Vegas, July 14-18, 2019. Please consider submitting a session proposal through NACM’s formal Call for Proposal process. Details of the proposal process can be found on NACM’s website. Additional educational opportunities also include the continuation of NACM’s quarterly webinars. These complimentary educational programs offer a one-hour session on topics of interest and importance to the court community. Check the NACM Webinar section of the website for details of upcoming programs, as well as to watch recordings of past webinars.

Thank you for your continued support of the National Association for Court Management. For more information about the organization and how you can participate in its success and growth, please consider participating in one of our committees. Committees meet regularly via conference call. Check the NACM Committee page for more detail. We look forward to you joining us!
